The Governor decided to make a call at Laurence, and will visit there on his return from Queenstowri.

The Simonseu Opera Troupe concluded a fairly successful season last night, and felt for Nelson today.

At a meeting of the Harbor Board today, the dock question was re-opened, and opinions were expressed that every effort should be made to obtain a suitable dock for tbe port.

After a long discussion, it was resolved to apply to Government as to the dissatisfaction expressed at the prohibition placed on the importation of grapes. It is understood; that the Government will not alter the decision already arrived at.

An Order-in-Council was published tonight to the effect that ordinary telegrams will be destroyed after being kept one year.

A Japanese man-of-war, supposed to be the same which was in Auckland recently, is now coming up the harbor.

The Japanese man-of-war which arrived in the harbor last night is the corvette EJngio, 1459,. tons, Capt. Sto, 52 days from Japan. Salutes were exchanged this morning.

Two vessels are at the Heads; one is the three-masted schooner Mercury, from New York, and the other is suppssed to be the ship Gareloch, from London, 87 days out.
