The City Council voted £500 as the mayoral salary for the year. At^ the Supreme Court, in the case of John" Yprston, convicted of attempted' rape, sentence was deferred. William Forshaw pleaded guilty to two indictments of stealing sewing- machines; sentence was deferred.'
