Threatening to Shoot the Prince of Wales.
HEAVY SENTENCE. At the Central Criminal Court on Tuesday, before Mr Justice Hawkins, William Brookshaw, 34, traveller, was indicted for maliciously sending a letter threatening to murder his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, Mr Poland and Mr Montagu Williams conducted the prose* cution ; and prisoner had no counsel. Mr Poland briefly opened the' case fflPfhe proßecution,|iwhich. was founded upon a letter received by Colonel Teesdate on the jou.,jtb.e J 9th.,OctoW, aad_w.a«_to .tibe.following effect:—" Colonel Teesdale. SirTo be brief; I am a young man brought "up in sight of BuckinghanrPalaeei willing and anxiqns to work, and cannot get it. to do. The'best thing I can do under these [ adverse circumstances is to go abroad to [one of the colonies. Tell your Boyal master, the Prince of, W^ale*, that I require £10 to start me there. If I succeed, 'itSfwill be repaid.': I* warifcit^tbig week. Send it to me _WiUiftgK v ßrooke N shaw, at Lemen's Hotel,' 21- and 22, Great Chapel street," Westminster.
