DtrjtiED^, This day. : Iv Massey's case, Mr E. Stout prosecuted, and Mr Ktchett defended Mr and Mrs Massey,' They have been charged jointly with'Sttaling waterworks debentures. Mr Stout opened the case at great length. Helsaid that a number of waterworks bonds were prepared in duplicate

for exchange, and . handed .to Massey, itheir Town Clerk, who retained them. .After Massey left the Corporation employ, .'* the book referring to waterworks debentures eonld not be found. "When he was " written to he replied that he had kept no bonds. After/his arrest this book was ;- Wpnd at his house.
