AUCKLAND.
Yesterday. The mail steamer City of Sydney left at 6 p.m. to-day for Sydney. She brought 195 of tons freight for Auckland. Among the through passengers for Melbourne were.Sir James and Lady McCulloch. At the Harbor Board meeting the Chairman announced last year's revenue to be £30,000, the largest ever received. A motion by Mr Lamb, that £500 be Toted for a Sailors' Home and that Government be requested to contribute a limilar amount, was withdrawn by the mover, and another resolution carried referring the consideration of the best, method of dealing with the site to the Endowment Committee.
The evidence in the Hamilton alleged murder case was concluded by the accused being remanded till tomorrow, to give counsel time to consider whether they would address the Court in defence.
