COUNTY COUNCIL.

At the. meeting held this afternoon the following report was laid on the table relative to the aid to drainage works :~

" Your Committee recommend that a sum of £20 per month be paid to owners of Big Pump, and £10 per month to Queen of Beauty Extended G.M. Co., in aid of drainage, and the above named companies pay the regular charges for any water they may use from the Counly water race. And, to encourage prospecting in K.araka and Hape Creek districLs, aid to the extent of gold duty raised in the respective drainage areas will be paid in the case of the Seymour and Dart G.M. Coys. The above contributions to be paid until Council sees fit to cancel the foregoing recommendation."
