This day.
The Government having received assurances that subscribers to the hospital desired to continue their share of its maintenance, the administration of the institution telegraphed yesterday that un_der those circumstances the old pound for pound system would be continued. The election for subscribers' representatives on the committee accordingly proceeded on the old basis, and resulted in the Mayor, the Treasurer, and another candidate beinj; at the bottom of the poll.
