I : Adelaide, This day. • ;. Our New Governor. Sir William Jeryois left last night for Sydney by the B. and O. steamship ClyjSe. Several fare well addresses were presented -to His iilscellency before his departure.

The entries for the Australian Cup and Newmarket Handicap, to be run afc the V.X.C. Autumn Meeting in March next, are somewhat below the average. The numbers are 42 horses for the Cup and 73 for the Handicap.
Sydney, Yesterday. A Marine Board enquiry into the circumstance attending the wreck of the steamship New England, at Clarence heads, on the 27thjultimo, was concluded to-day. The Court found that the vessel was lost through |the negligence of the pilot (Smith), and ordered that his certificate should be cancelled.
