CHRISTCHURCH.
Saturday.
A curious question in marine insurance has arisen out of the docking of the Hurunui. A portion of the cargo was in the Vessel when she was docked, and one consignee inquired of the agent in the National Insurance office, in which the goods were insured, as to whether the docking did not constitute a deviation which would invalidate the insurance. The reply was that the insurance was invalidated, but that owing to the circumstances the company would hold the consignee covered.
