KARAKA.
Since intersecting the leader the manager has been driving on it as well as continuing the crosscut. It is composed of nice-looking quartz, and varies in size from 2to 10 inches. Gold is seen every breaking down, and several pounds of nice stone have been bagged. Only one shift is working in the crosscut, Mr Crawford being desirous of finding out the distance he has to drive to a leader on which a shaft was sunk before pushing it ahead. A hard bar was met with some days ago, so progress is very slow.
