DUNEDIN.
Yesterday. A large wooden building in Stuart street was destroyed by fire yesterday afternoon. The house was owned by Dr Stenhouse, and tenanted, by Mr Russell, who kept a lodging house, and was the only person in the building when the fire waa diocovered. The Brigade saved the adjoining building. The furniture was under insured. The mortgagee held a policy of £700 in the Victorian Company oa the building. Mr John Glendining, of Kirkpatrick and Glendining, while out shooting at Waikooaiti yesterday, met with a serious accident. His gun burst, inflicting injuries rendering the amputation of the left arm necessary. This day. A lad named Boag, aged twelve years, has been drowned in' the Shag river whilst bathing. The Manapouri made the run from the Bluff to the wharf at Port Chalmers in eleven hours- - :
