THAMES WINDING ASSOCIATION.
(To the Editor of the Evening Star.)
Sir,—lt having been publicly notified by a telegram from the Taames that the Mining Inspector had condemned the rope of the Thames Winding Association, I am requested by the Directors to state that the rope in ..question was never intended to be used by the Association for winding purposes, and prior to its being condemned by the Mining Inspector, the Directors were in treaty for the purchase of a new rope suitable for the work to be carried out. The rope condemned by Mr McLaren formed part of a lot of machinery purchased, and was simply intended to be used as packing. —I an, &c, Jas. Stodabt,
Secretary. Auckland, 23rd Dec, 1882.
