Tisza, Hungarian Prime Minister, made a speech to»day, in which he expressed an opinion that the rumors now current of European complication are overdrawn, and that peace might be deemed to be sssured. London, December 20. The Archbishop of Canterbury. The Right Rev. Edward White Benson, D.D., Bishop of Truro, has been appointed Archbishop of Canterbury and Primate of All England, vice tbe late Dr Tait. Caieo, December 20. France in Egypt. M. Dredif, it has now transpired, has resumed the position of French Controller General of Egyptian finance which be held previous to the rebellion, and which the Egyptian Ministry refused to recognise.
