Dublin—Alarming Disclosuresimportant disclosures have been made to the police authorities in Dublin regard, ing the recent outrage upon detectives and others in that city. Evidence has been obtained from informers, and is of such a character as to cause the Executive to order a strict inquiry. This will be held forthwith, and some startling revelations as to the state of Dublin are anticipated. Redistribution of Portfolios. A Cabinet Council was held at Windsor to-day when the following members of the Ministry took the oaths of office :— Lord Derby, Secretary for the Colonies; Lord Kimberley, Secretary for India; Lord Hartington, Secretary for War; and Mr Childers, Chancellor of"the Ex* chequer. / Professor Faweett Setter. The health of Mr. Fa wee tt, Postmaster General, has shewn a considerable improvement during the last few days. Death of Bishop of Llandaft Obituary: The Bight Rev. Alfred Oliphant, D.D. Bishop of Llandaff, aged 84. Pabis, December 16. The Tonquin Expedition. The statement that the proposed expedition to Tonquin has been abandoned is not correct. It is now known that the consideration of the project has only been postponed, and will be brought up again. Admiral Jaureginberry, Minister of Marine, has withdrawn his resignation. Cairo, December 16. The Egyptian TribunalsEarl Dufferiu has laid before the Egyptian Government a scheme for the reform of native tribunals. LordDixfferin urges the appointment of an European Judge to the Supreme Court.
The following specials to the Press Association have been published :— London, December 15. Serious dissensions are reported to have occurred in the French Cabinet regarding the Tonquia expedition. A placard has been posted about the city of Stamboul denouncing the Sultan as a madman, and urging his deposition and a change of dynasty. The committee of Congress in America has proposed to grant large ship building bounties. The fire at Kingston, Jamaica, is supposed to have beeu the work of an incendiary. The loss is estimated at three millions. The overland passenger route through Egypt will be resumed at the end of December. . '
