NEW PBINCE IMPERIAL.
The manager received intimation this morning that the tenders of McPeake and Kneebone, for sinking the shaft and crosscutting for the Mariner's reef respectively, had been accepted. The men start work to-morrow morning. Three shifts will be employed in each case, so as to push on operations as quickly as possible. In the eastern cad the air is rather dull in the daytime, so the drive is being advanced by the afternoon aud flight shifts only. The
urnace at No. 1 level causes a good draught. Winding is now carried oh two shifts, instead of only in the daytime as hitherto.
THAMES DEEP LEVEL TRIBUTE. ■" The pump was stopped part of yesler* day and to-day, while some slight repairs to the machinery were effected*. The. contractors for the south drive are making good progress in an excellent class of country for gold.
REUBEN PARR.
A trial lot of 7 loads of quartz from the cross reef has been completed for the satisfactory return of 13oz 18dwts melted gold.
