The following tenders were opened today for sinking the shaft and driving the crosscut for the Mariner's reefs—For Sinking Shaft: Wm. McP^ake, £2 5s (per foot); P. Nolan, £2 9s ; A. Brown, £2 15s. For Crosscut: T. Kneebone, 12s (per foot) ; E. Hale, 12s 6d; S. Catran, 13s 6d; Ord and party, 14s ; W. Atkinson, 14s 6d; Brideson, 15s; E. Stephenson, 15s 3d; John floskin, 15s 6d;G. Gill, 16s; H. Willetts, 17s; W. MePeake, 17s; P. Nolan, 18s. The tenders were sent to the directors, who will probably accept the" lowest in each case. GOLD RETURNS. Moanatairi—Lukey and party have crushed a parcel of general - dirt and a few pounds of picked stone for the return of 39ozs lldwts melted gold.
