A. terrible scene was witnessed in the Leopold stadt quarter of Vienna on June 29th. Three young women, with their clothes all in flames, suddenly appeared at a window on the second floor of a house, and screamed for help. Before it could be rendered, however, they all threw themselves out of the window into the street, suffering teriible injuries from the fall. Wo sooner had they reached the ground than the people in the Streets heard fearful shrieks proceeding from within the buildibg, out of whose second floor windows the fire was now bursting. A number of men at once ascended to the second storey, where two more girls and one workman were discovered enveloped' in flameß. The place was a match r manufactory, and the phosphorus with which the girls were working.had accidently-been kindled, the flames naturally spreading with the utmost rapidity. The fire was, fortunately, soon extinguished; One of the young women is dead, and four others, as well as a man and the manager of the factory, are so terribly burnt or mutilated that their tires are despaired of.
