Christchubch, This day. The match between Canterbury and Auckland commenced to-day in Lancaster Park. The weather was splendid. Ashby won the tossj and elected to go in. Wat son and Ollivier faced the bowling of Lankham and Gill. When Watson scored 5, Ollivier was clean bowled — 1-0-5. Reeves then came in, and the score mounted up steadily despite good bowling and fielding. The telegraph showed 60 for one wicket, when Robinson took the* ball from Gill. The score now stands at 65 for one wicket.
