THE PRINCE IMPERIAL.

(To the Editor of the Evening Star.)

Sib, —Any amount of rumors, are flying about in reference to the crushing of the specimens of the Prince Imperial Co., and if only one-half of what is said is true, a piece of gross mis^management has been perpetrated by some of the directors of the company, and the sooner shareholders sift the matter the better for themselves and the public. Why should any director take the management out of the manager's hands P 1 heir first act was to stop the manager breaking down the reef, and shares were run up on expectations, whereas had the ordinary course been followed, as previously, the shares would have kept their value; there would not have been such a rise on expectations, neither would there have been such a fall in the market. The next move of the directory was this specimen crushing, and the manner it was done, before the end of the month. What was it done for we very naturallycask P Was it for the good and benefit of the shareholders P IN ever! Then what was it for? Was it for the purpose of "rigging" themarket? This is the only answer I can suggest for it; whether rightly or wrongly I am not going to pretend to say. Anyhow, the mine has depreciated considerably through blundering and interfering, and a move or two more in the same direction and they will get the mine all to themselves.—l am, &c, Minke.
