Sydney, November 20. A Dissolution.
It has transpired that His Excellency the Governor has granted Sir Henry Parkes, an unconditional dissolution of Parliament.
Melbourne, November 20. Sank Rates.
The associated banks have fixed the rale of discount as follows :—For bills at 3 months, 7 per cent.; at 4 months, 8 per cent; above 4 months, 9 per cent.; interest on deposits for 12 months, of per cent. Cricket—England v. Victoria.
The weather to-day was comewhat unfavorable for cricket owing to the frequent showers of rain, and the match between the Victorian 11 the Hon. Ivo Bligh's team was not resumed till this aftsrnoon. The Home team continued their second innings with 3 wickets to fall, the score standing at 121, and put together 169 before they were all disposed of. The scores of to day's play were as follows: McShane, c, 15 ; Casper, c, 8; Bruce, p, 40 ; Logan, not 0ut,.0, The Australian tot J for their first and second innings being equal to the score of the Englishmen in their first inn* ings, the latter won by 10 wickets. The attendance of spectators during* the day was small.
