It is desirable that the water table 3 should be frequently and well cleaned out at this season of the year. There were several complaints of an unpleasant stench rising from the one on the business side of Pollen street from Cochrane street to Pahau street yesterday, in which was settled a quantity of greonish matter. This outlet was cleaned to-day, but we ob3erve in some other places a alight accumulation of stuff that might prove conducive to the spread of disease.

The Athletic Glub was largely attended by visitors last night, the occasion being the presentation of prizns won at the C trnival.
