The Auckland Cattle Show opened yesterday. The attendance was not large, the people's being the 9th. The show of blood horses was limited, but good Auckland Stud Company's stock took most of the prizeß. In shorthorn stock A. and B. Isaacs, T. and S. Morrin, Waikato Land Association, and Morrin and Studholme were successful exhibitors In sheep there is an increase of exhibits. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile prize cup lies between A. S. Wallace and A. and J. Anderson, the decision being by points, and only one or two between th«m was known yesterday. In agricultural implements there was a splendid collection, local industries b<ing well represented j but the dairy produce show was indifferent. Bwgnall Bras, get the first prize for a collection of apiarian appliances. A VAUJDICTOBS' meeting to Mr Fairbrother, Baptist missionary for the Lake country, was held in the Wolleßley street Baptist Church, Auckland, yesterday evening, and was largely attended. Addresses were given by Mr Fairbrother, Revs Thos. Buddie, and T, Spurgeon.
