A Highland gentleman has offered to pay the arrears of rent due in the Isle of Skye, so as to prevent the eviction of (he crofters by military force. The crofters now offer to compromise for 10 per cent. , A Pulman palace car attached: to the Scotch express on the Midland line caught fire and was burned. One passenger was burned to death.
