A t the Naval Cadet performance last night the cash taken at the doors was £21 17s : tickets sold, £29 ss: taken at the dance, £L 4s 6d| total, £52 6s 6d—an exceedingly gratifying result.

At the R.M. Court this morning, judgment was giren in the case of Wm.j Wilkinson, formerly of the Thames Advertiser t. Win. Kelly, of Opotiki, for an election advertising account for £13 ss; costs £8 le. Mr Sperrey, Property Tax Commissioner has not ' yet obtained judgment against MaoDonnell Bros, of Coromandel. They bare now turned out genuine MacDonnells, and have nothing to say to the McDonalds., But Mr Kenrick would not give judgment until the plaintiff proved that the debt has not been paid, to whioh Mr Miller, demurs on the ground that it is his business only to prove the claim, not that it is unsatisfied.

i At the RnpwbeCourt, Dunedin, yesterday, [ Albert Edward Morgan, a lad of 16, was found I guilty of attempted rape on a girl of six in the Southern Cemetery. The lad's father stated 1 that the boy was scarcely right in his mind, , and Judge Williams deferred sentence till he could be examined by the gaol surgeon.
Wjs (Star) deeply regret to learu that cable intelligence has been received announcing the death of the Rev. 8. Edger, 8.A., who went borne in the ship Pareora for the purpose of undergoing a surgical .operation. The tad intelligence will cause a profound feeling of sorrow throughout the city. Mr Edger was an independarifc thinker . a man of deep spirituality, of ripe scholarly attainments, and an earnest worker for the advancement of humanity, religiously and socially.
