Polkinghorne and Emerle, victims of the Wade smuggling cases, have received £100 each from Government as compensation for imprisonment. Long Drive Walker's PalaceH. T. Jones' tender of £2196 has been accepted for Walker's Hotel, Te Aroha.
George Grey, for cattle steading, and George Gordon, for assaulting his wife with an iron bar, were found guil'.y, but are not yet sentenced.
