Afc the Supreme Court William Noakes, for a breach of the Arms Act, was convicted and sentenced to 24 hours' imprisonment. James Ktmry Sibbals, on a charge of larceny from the person was acquitted. William Eattray, clerk in the. Native Beserres Department, committed for trial on two charges of embezzling moneys the property of the Governor. Two sums of £27 10s, and £18 respectively, for rent for native reserves, had been paid to the accused, and not accounted for. Bail had been allowed, himself in £100, and two sureties of £50 each. He now failed to surrender and his bail was.estreated.
