Gold Saving Apparatus.
An exhibition,of Mr Aires' patent gold saving apparatus took-plaop at the OfcaßO Foundry,. Dunedin, on September 15. Among 5 the visitors VertfProfetfstfr Ulrich and sereral students of the-PUga School of MinesV The operationsJ were sufpeWntended by Mr P. F. Daniels, of the Otago School of Mines. . Each of *'these* boxes contains ten ■ slides ? covered with quicksilver, and strips of copper are placed longitudinally. On either side, of each box is placed an outlet for the sand, and, the .case,containing, the boxes is made t^:filingll^ckw^i}B|and'|f^t^ghile the boxes swing alternately east and west, so that four distinct movements are gained. The apparatus is prepared for a fire-head battery.
