The Smile or Fobtttne is still crushing, and it is expected from the show on the plates that there will be a good return. Sims and party and Campbell and party, tributers, will sr >n be starting to crush. They have some good stuff to hand.
Hart and.party, in the Lucky Hit, are on good gold-bearing leaders from six inches to a foot in thickness. Tiese leaders lun into the Owhaboa Extended. Bead and party (Radical tributers) are on splendid gold in the winze and drive, and good specimens have been obtained.
The Nebraska are sending stuff to the batteiy for a trial crushing.
An accident, though not of a very serious nature, happened to John Quinlivan, a settler at Waitafitie, lest week. It appears he was falling a tree, which was.held by supplejacks, and when in tbe act of falling it swung' round and struck him on the head and shoulders, inflicting a nasty scalp wound, besides sundry bruises. He was confined to bed for some days, but is getting round again, although still unable to work.
