Wesleyan Church, Thames.

QtTAETEELT MEETING

The quarterly meeting of the Thames Wesleyan Church was held in the vestry at Shortland on Monday evening. There was 15 circuit officials present, the Rev. Henry Bull occupying the chair. The number of fully accredited church mem« bers was reported to be the same as last year. The circuit stewards, Messrs Stone and E. Rolleston, junr., presented the balance-sheet, which showed the ordinary income for the quarter to be £103 17s 4d; special ditto, £28 10s j total, £132 7s 4d. The expenditure, was £100 3s Id, thus reducing the circuit debt from £56 14s lid to £24 10s Bd. Special Sunday collections were authorised on behalf of the Grahamstown Sunday School on October Ist; the Home Mission Fund on October Bth; and the Shortland Sunday School on December 3rd. Arrangements were also made for the Home Mission Public Meeting on October 9th, to be addressed by the Conference deputation, the Rev. Geo. Bond. This being the quarterly meeting at which arrangements are made for the services of the Minister, the Circuit Stewards proposed that the Rev. H. Bull be invited to remain for next year. This was put to the meeting by Mr J. R. Stone and carried unanimously. The state of the respective Sunday (schools was next renewed—Mr Howse speaking on behalf of the Grahamstown School, Mr Ashby on behalf of Shortland, and the Chairman on behalf of Tararu. This concluded the business for the quarter.
