TWO GBAYIJS. ,<: I saw her first long years ago, '-"' With waving golden hair; Her blue eyes beaming love's deep troth, •" And form so frail and fair. ' To 'me it seemed her gentle smile Was sweet as eventide, - -- - When softly shines the evening star, To say the day has died. Then warmly throbbed her breast withbop«« Which gave to ev'ry tone Soft Answer to the voice of praise , From friends around her grown. Oh, sweet the bliss, and dear the time, -- When youthful hearts beat free; And beauty, loyo, and joy entwine, As flowerets on the lea. When every thought and wish proekim Desires of/jbyous place, • - - - And sincere souls see love and fame On fortune's dial face. When next I saw her fair young form 'Twas at the altar rail, Pledging her faith, come son or storm, Her heart would never fail.
