The Sydney men won the football match by a goal and try to a try, but during the last spell they were overmatched, and three tries were obtained by Canterbury men, which were disallowed by the umpires. Canterbury forwards played a magnificent game ; the backs, as usual, were weak. Mr Izetfc, the editor of Society, was attacked this evening by a draper named Crocker, whom the" paper had maligned, and a scuffle ensued. ■,There was'not much damage done on either side.
