AUCKLAND.
This day. Fire in Auckland. A large block of wooden buildings recently erected on the Kyber Pass, the property of Mr G. P. Pierce, manager of the New Zealand Insurance Co., was totally destroyed by fire at three o'clock this moruing. The block comprised five shops three of which were occupied by G. Keid, cabinet maker ; Boyle, fruiterer ; and Burns, alUsbrts> It ■ originated in Reid's who is absent at Waikato. Insurances on buildiDgs, £1,700 New Zealand ; reinsured, £300, National; on Reid's stock, etc., £ICD, New Zealand ; on Burns and Boyles stock, £150 each in Standard. Mr Wm. Bobbett, of the Thames, has purchased the racehorses Libeller and Musket-Yatterina colt from the late ■ W.Walters', executors for 700 guineas.
