„ .^.v, ,---t -^tv London. September 19. Aboukir has been occupied by the British troops. Arabi's own regiment has refused to surrender, and has marched to Damietta, where Abdallah still maintains a defiant attitude, which it is suspected is secretly instigated by the Porte. Arabi, while at Kafradowar, was, it is stated, in constant dread of being poisoned. The natives are now freely journeying throughout the country commanded by our troops, and thorough confidence seems to be restored.
