This day,
On the tenth inst. Mongonui police constables Moor and Wright rode out to Awanui, where they seized a quantity of ammunition at a storekeeper's named Wylis. Detective Brennan and Constable Jones, armed with search warrants, and accompanied by the prisoner Marsh, proceeded to the Thames on Friday night, and daring Saturday were successful in finding a large amount of property cor» responding with missing articles, some of which had been sold, and some otherwises disposed of. They returned to town, bringing the property with them at 7 o'clock yesterday morning by the Enterprise,
The Hineraoa arrived at Onehunga yesterday from Wellington. Passengers —Sir M. O'Eorke, Capt. and Mrs Home, Mr and Mrg P. A. Whitaker and two children, Miss Cox, Miss Hutchison, Mr and Mrs and Miss Dobson, Messrs Swanson, Whyte, Hamlin, Cadman, Shepherd, Nancarrow, Fox, Adams, and Jackson.
Mr J. Shepherd, member for Waimea, and Mr Dobson, member for Wairau, are on a visit to Auckland, and will, with the rest of the south members, return by the Hinemoa, which leaves for south this day week.
