There were over ten thousand miles of main roads declared such by the House last night. Some alterations were made, and the amended schedules will be circulated soon.
The following is the schedule of main roads .in districts under the Roads Construction Bill, according to the Counties and mileage to each line of road :—Coromandel: Coromandel to Grahams town (part of), 13; Corotnandel to Cape Colville, via Tokatea, 25; CoromaadeT to Tairua, via Whangapoua and Mercury Bay, 40 ; Hastings to Mercury Bay (part., of), 8; Thames-Coromandel towards', Thames, 16; Hastings (pert of), 13; Grahamstown to Ohinemuri, 12; Hikutaia to Wha&gamata, 15; Ohinemuri towards Kafcikati, 10; Thames to Miranda, 16; Tairua harbor to Thames road at Puriri, 20; Ohinemuri towards Te Aroha, 13. There has been to«day a great deal of ! fpelicg in the Council orer the Rangipo* Murimotu Bill, and the singular thing connected with the whole affair is that three ex-Ministers in the Council de*
nounced the whole affair, although they were parties to various stages of the transaction. Eeynolds, Whitmore, and McLean all of them deplored the transaction, yet all of them thought there was small chance of escape from the colony being planged into it as they had all been bound by McLean's actions^ There are two stations' clips of wool now impounded by the natives, and unless the Bill were passed it was feared the coming clips would also share the same fate.
