The attendance of spectators was large during the day, although the weather was showery. Much interest is being taken in the match. During the afternoon the inclemency of the weather increased, and play was suspended. The Australians went first to the wicket, and when the stumps were drawn had! scored 131, with three wickets to fall. The highest scorers were—Giffen, caught, 40; and Bonnor, caught, 35. The cargo of meat per steamer Austral has arrived in prime condition, aud 200 carcases were offered for sale by auction, and averaged 6d per lb. The market is somewhat depressed. Palmer, one of the Australian cricketing team, is still suffering from injury to the groin, which prevented his playing in the match against All England.
