A Battle—Arabi Repulsed.
An attack was made on Monday night by Arabi with the whole of his available force upon the British position at Eassassain, a lock on the fresh water canal, which was occupied by a force of the British cavalry on the26th inst. Repeated assaults were made by the enemy, who were, however, repulsed with heavy loss, and eleven guns were captured by the British. Our loss during the engagement was 120 killed and wounded.
London, August 28. Capture of Arabi's Staff. The chief officers of staff have been captured.
August 29. New Egyptian Ministry. The new Egyptian Ministry consists of Cheriff Pasha, Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs ; Riaz Pasha, Minister of the Interior ; and Osmar Pasha, Minister of War. The remaining members of the Government are new untried men, who have never held any political position. The Captured Chief of Staff. Mahmoured Feliway s chief of Arabi's staff, who was captured at Kassassaiu, states that there are very few earthworks at Telelkibir.
