The case of robbery in a house of ill fame yesterday had to be adjourned through the friends of prisoner making the principle witnesses drunk.
A petition is in circulation against Sarangabake joining the city. The supporters of the original petition warn the ratepayers against signing the counter petition, they alleging that it contains libellous matter.
At the trial trip the steamer Waitoa yesterday did the measured mile under sis minutes. ;
