The Upper Country.
(fkom the tribune.) KARANGAHAKE.
I saw by the Tribune of a new find. To satisfy my own mind, I proceeded there aad found the show a splendid one. The prospectors told me they could not see any gold in the stone, but it would prospect well. They gave me a parcel of stone to try, and I was astonished at the prospect; on cleaning, gold could be seen freely through the stone. The stone is a kindly one. The reef is between four and fire feet. T. Snodgrass and Bob Mo Williams have pegged out the piece adjoining. The reef takes its course true north and south.
The Hauraki reef in the low level has been driven for eight feet, and is not through yet. It is a fine body of stone, and should it go half an ounce, it will pay handsomely.
