A REASON FOR DANCING.
There is a story of an Imperial High-" ness waltzing thrice in the same evening with an English lady at the Court of Berlin. She naturally felt, and frankly expressed, herself highly flattered by the compliment. " I did not intend it as a compliment." was the answer. " Then," said . the lady, . somewhat rebuffed, "your Highness must be very fond of dancing." "I detest dancing," was the still unsatisfactory response. Undeterred by her ill success, our fair country-woman still prosecuted her inquiries. " What, then, may I ask, can be your Imperial Highness' motive for dancing ?" "Madame," was the exalted personage's curt reply, " I dance to perspire ? "
