The enemy is in strong force at Mehallet el Kebir, to the north-east of Tantah. An advanced guard of 3000 men occupies an entrenched position near Ismailia. Two vessels, laden with Turkish troops, have left Rhodes, steaming in a southeasterly direction. The Nile is inundating the surrounding country. The Egyptian forces concentrated at Mehallet el Kebir number 25,000. They have 60 guns. Tea Greek pillagers hare been shot at Ismailia.
