Tonke Bankebs : National Bank of New Zealand (Limited). Solicitors.: Messrs Whitaker, Bussell, and Buddie. Bbokkbs: Auckland Brokers' Association Skobbiabt: Mr F. A. White. The Company was originally projected for the purpose of acquiring blocks of good suburban land, to be re-sold in lots suitable for residence sites, and recently, with the view%f adding to the value of their lands, by affording greater facilities of access, the" Provisional Directors have entered into arrangements for providing a system of TRAM* WAYS for the CITY and SUBUBB3. An agreement has been made with the City Council by which the Company hat secured the EXCLUSIVE BIG-HT TO CONSTRUCT AND WORK SUCH TRAMWAYS FOR A PERIOD OF TWENTIONE YKABS, and the terms of the concession leave no room to doubt that the undertaking will he advantageous to the community and profitable to the proprietors. The properties already purchased consist of several blocks of choice land, comprising the St. Helier's Bay Estate of 620 acres, the Eemuera Land Company's Estate of 117 acres, and the Nortbcote Estate of 1012 acres, amounting in all to 1749 acres, .the whole being admirably adapted for villa sites, combining the advantages of extensive frontage to the Waitemata Harbour, picturesque scenery, and soil of excellent quality, together with proximity to the city. The sales already effected have averaged [ £200 per acre in Remuera, and £120 at St. ' Helier's, and land adjacent to the Northcote Estate has been recently sold at £100 per aore. The Directors call special attention to the great increase of value which has resulted from the construction of Tramways in suburban districts in other places, amounting in some cases to ten times the original cost, and as the Company's lands were purchased before any provision of Ibe kind badbeen made, it is reasonable to anticipate a similar favorable- - rrsult in the present instance. It is intended to prooeed with the construction of the linet ? already agreed upon as soon as the necessary materials can be obtained, the Company having \ agreed to open the traffic and have cars running 'WITHIN EIGHTEEN MONTHS from date of concession. The Directors have secured the services of a gentleman of large experience in the practical working of tramways in the British Islands, and can confidently recommend the enterprise to their fellow-colonists, in the full conviction that it will prove a good investment.
