Further large withdrawals of gold are being made from the Bank of England for Italy. 'London, August 11. Parliament to Adjourn. It is now definitely known that both Houses of the Imperial Parliament will adjourn on Friday next until some date towards the end of October, when the Houses will meet again. The only business to be dealt with, will be the Government proposals for the reform of Parliamentary procedure, the discussion of which was suspended in June last. Frozen Meat. A portion of the cargo of the Orient ..steamship Lusit; nia, consisting of several carcases of beef, was sold at Stmtbfield Market today. -The meat was in excellent condition. Hind qViarters realized from 6Jd to 6M per lb, and. fore quarters from s|d to s|d per Ib. M Australians v. Professionals. The cricket match between, the Australians and Eleven of the Players of England was resumed to day at the Oval, in the presence of an enormous number of spectators, by whom the greatest interest was taken in the match. The weather was very fine, aad the wicket in good order. The Players, with 9 wickets down for 310, resumed their first innings, Morley and Sherwin, the not outs, taking their places at the wickets. Eight runs were added by Sherwin and four by Morley, when the latter was caught, and the innings cloßed for a total of 322. The Australians commenced-their first innings by sending in Massie and Bannerman; both were soon disposed of without scoring. The Australians were unable to stand against the splendid bowling of the Englishmen, and the innings 'closed for 150. The bowling of the Players throughout was dead on the wicket, and their fielding was excellent. The Australians, I being 172 runs behind their opponents, had to follow on.

August 12. The cricket match at Kensington Oval was resumed to day. There was again an enormous attengance. The weather was fine, but very hot. The Australians continued their second innings. The Australians were unable to save a one innings defeat, the score only reaching 138, or 35 less than the required numher. The Players thus won the match by an innings and 34 runs to spare.
