NELSON.
This day.
Wm. Nelson, who was recently committed for trial on a charge of horse stealing, was allowed bail on Saturday. However, he was arrested at the instance of his surety en a charge of absconding from bail. He is said to have been in ill health then, and this morning be was found dead in his cell. Nelson was a settler of some time, who has been given an excellent character. He was a Good Templar for years, but just before the horse stealing he gave way to drink, owing, it is said, to a disappointment in love An inquest will be held.
