Nominated Immigration.
The Post says: — "The system of Nominated Emigration has again come to the fore, the Goverament having recently decide 1 to resume this method of increasing the population of the country, and already indications are apparent of the interest taken in the subject by colonists all over New Zealand. As most of oar readers are aware, the sum of £6, including £1 for ship's outfit, is all that is charged under this system for bringing able-bodied men over from Great Britain, while for families and for, single women nothing whatever is" charged beyond the £1 for bedding and ship's kit. Up to this morning, over 140 nominations had been made for this district alone, 32 of which number were made to»day before noon, 20 being telegraphed from the counti/. Turning to other districts, we learn that Auckland has sent in 86 nominations, Invereargiil47, Marlborough 15, Nelson and Hokitika 6 apiece, and Taranaki 5. No official information has yet been received from Christchurch or Dunedin, but they will probably send in about 4DO more, so that in a veiy short time there will be more than enough nominations with which to commence operations.
