(prom the mail.) Kapan<ja.—Rich specimens were obtained on Tuesday from Scotty's reef. Success.—67ozs of specimen gold was lodged in the Bank this week. The gold obtained in the low level is of the same sort as that formerly got in the upper level.
Tokatea.-—This mine is looking very well, gold having made in the drive going west from the winze, giving reason to believe that an extensive block of payable ground is now being opened up. Over a hundred weight "of picked stone was obtained during the week. Stanley.—Obtained some nice looking stone during the week, but hare not as yet been able to forward crushing stuff to the battery on account of the bad roads. Watkawau Pbospectobs' Claim. — Hunt deserves success for the spirited stand he has made at Waikawau during this sovere winter. He has applied to the Council for a bridle track.
Blackmobe's have taken out nice looking stone from the upper workings during the past week. Home Bttle.—The crushing gave 82ozs retorted gold. In the face of the low level the reef looks well, as it also-' does going down the winze. - . Matawai.—Good gold has been carried down in the winze, promising well for the future of the mine.
