Coiwa BbowJNE'b Chiobodyne, has earned for itself, not only in Hindostan, but all over the Kat>t. As a remedy of general utility, we much question whether a better is imported into the country, and we shall be glad to hear of its finding a place in every Anglo-Indian home. The other brands, we are bappy to say, are now relegated to tfae native bazaars, and, judging from their-sale, we t ccy their sojourn there will be but evanescent. We could multiply instances ad infinitum of the extraordinary efficacy of Dij Coixis Bbownb's Chxobodtmb in Diarrhoea and Dy't-ntety, Spasms, Cramps, li>uralßia* the Vomiting of PregDancy, and as a general, sedative, that flave occurred under our personal obeervation during many years. The value of this well known Family Medicine has been largely tested in all parts of the world, and by all grades of society, for up wards of FIFTY YEARS. While there is life there's hope, he said " JEgrotOy dum animas est, spes ««£." DE L. ~ S M IT H (The only legally-qualified medical man advertising). CONSULTS — ' J On all affections of the Nervous System) no matter from what cause arising). On all broken-down constitutions. On all diseases arising from early indiscretions. v Oa Gout. On Rheumatism. In these colonies those excesses which we have indulged in " hot youth " tell upon us with fearful interest. Our regrets are useless, our repining futile. The sole idea should be the chance we possess of remedying the ilia we already have, for combatting the effects likely to result. Hide it as he may, put on as good an exterior as he can, still is the viotim conscious that he is a living lie, and that sooner or later his vices will discover him to the world. Our Faith, our obligations to society at large, the welfare of our future offspring, and the duty, we owe to ourselves forbids procrastination, and points out to us, not to wait till the ravages break out in our constitutions. Before negotiating with a merchant, before engaging .with a confidential clerk; before employing a barrister, a careful man makes enquiries as their standing, their length of occupancy or residence; and, in the case of a legal adviser, both as to his legal qualifications and as to his capabilities of transacting the individual business he consults him upon. Strange to say, however, in the selection of medical man, the sufferer frequently omits these necessary precautions and without regard to the fitness, qualification, experience and ability for the particular ailment requiring treatment, he consults the nearest mint whose experience and practice, perhaps, lies in quite an opposite direction. Is it astonishing that so many are driven mad, are ruined in health, and-are bankrupt in spirits, hope and money ? Have I not for years pointed out to them that I, JDr L. L. Smith, am, the only legally qualified medical man advertising in the Colonies / Have I not also prosecuted, at my own expense, these very quacks, and exposed the various nostrums they are selling,—such as Phosphodyne Essence of Life, &c—and had them analysed and found them to consist of " Burnt Sugar and flavoring iriatter," and the certificates '. ■ have pbovbd to be all forgeries. Ib is for this reason that I step out of the ethics of the profession and advertise, to give those who require the services of. my branch an opportunity of knowing thsy can consult a legally qualified man, and one, moreover, who. has made this his especial study. Dr L. L. Smith is the only legally q /tlified medical man advertising, and he has been in Melbourne 24 years, in full practice on NERVOUS DISEASES - LOSS OF POWER AND DEBILITY SYPHILITIC AFFECTIONS WAN! OF CONDITION GOUT AND RHEUMATISM. Db L. L. SMITH can be consulted by letter—Fee, £1. Medicine* forwarded to all the colonies. Db L. L.
