The old drive from tbe Ofcago flat winze lias been cleaned out, and the manager will start breaking down the reef" on Monday. A shot or two has been fired in it, and the stoae tarown out was fouad to be very heavily mineralised. There is no change worthy of note in the winze on the hangingwall leader. The drive opened out from the prospecting winze is now on the footwall of the reef lately formed. Several small leaders are in the face, and these show gold whenever broken down. Good colors of gold are seen in the drive | on No. 1 reef at the top of Capt. Richards' I rise where the store is taken out. No change of importance has taken place in the mine lately. A good deal of quartz .is ,still coming from the Cure section, and the balance from the 100 ft and 170 ft levels. The leader cut in the crosscut at the latter level, and which has lately been opened out upon, shows gold occasionally. The manager is unable at present to push on the battery level, as was decided on some time ago, on account of the scarcity of mining timber.
