QUEEN OF BEAUTY.

Good specimen stone was obtained from the winze yesterday, and some bagged this morning was of a richer quality than yesterday's haul. There is no change as yet to report in the reef at No. 9 level. During the past week the battery has been overhauled, and, as all rspairs are now completed, crushing will probably be started on Monday. Ten head will be employed on the quartz from No. 9 level, five on a parcel from the winze at No. 8, and the remaining five on stone from the main reef west of the shaft at No. 8 level. The parcel from No. 9 is expected to shape better than the last, and there is no doubt about the lot from the winze doing so. THAMES DEEP LEVEL TRIBUTE COMPANY. ' The crosscut at the 500 feet level is being pushed ahead in a good class of country and the face is now in about 43 feet... On Thursday a body of quartz, which is believed to be dropper from the main reef, was met with. It is evidently of a Rot)d size for the men had cut into it for a depth of 3 feet this morning and had not reached the other wall- The quartz is white in appearance, and has not shown any gold, but contains a per centage of favorable mineral. For the h present the manager will not do any work F on this reef being desirous of intersecting r the main reef and draining for three winzes at.No. 4 level. About three week at most should suffice to extend the crosscut _ to the main reef. . NEW PRINCE IMPERIAL. A portion of the Beach leader in the bot torn of the winze east of the shaft has been broken out, and colors of gold were seen in doing so. The contractors for the shaft are down about 85ft, and another week will probably seetbem down the full distance. The surface works are being pushed ahead as quickly as possible, and the manager hopes to have the new poppet legs up in a day or two. MOANATAIRI. The company cleaned up today for the good yield of 2670zs gold, for which only 140 tons of dirt have been put through the mill. This is the best return this company has banked for some months, and we hope they will keep it up.

WAITEKAURI. A parcel of 30 ton's of general dirt has been put through for No. 2 Company for the yield of 31ozs 9dwts gold, which was brought down by Mr Kelly. Two or three tons scraped out of the hoppers of No. 3 gave 3ozs 16dwts gold. GOLD RETURNS. Moanataibi. —Guthrie and party have crushed 7 loads for Bozs 9dwts gold. Quaelty and party have crushed 6 loads for Boz3 4dwts gold. Jam.Tabt (Tapu).—The shareholders in this claim (late Golden Point) have treated 4 tons for the good return of llozs gold, worth £& 4s per ounce.
