(Before H. Eenrick, Esq., R.M.) ABUSIVE LANGUAGE.

Mrs Ann Morton was charged, with using provoking language to Thos. Millett, namely, "That you are a rogue and thief."

Mr Miller appeared for accused. Thos. Millett deposed that on the morn tag of the 6th Mrs Morton came to bis bouse about 7.30 in the morning and asked for her gander, calling him ab- y rogue, a thief, and a liar. As he was going to his work she used the same language, and he told her he would give her into the hands of the police. She was constantly annoying his wife and children.

Mrs Millett deposed that Mrs Morton came and asked her for the gander, and she replied that it was hers. She marie use of the language complained of, and witness shut the door at her husband's ! request. The gander was in dispute. j' Samuel Dunlop deposed to hearing Mrs Morton call Millett a by rogue and d-—d thief., | Mr Miller, for defendant, admitted that Mrs Morton said they were a lot of thieves for keeping her goose. - His Worship said defendant had acted very like a goose herself. Ordered to be bound over in sureties'of €25 to keep the peace for six months, and to pay the costs of the case, 17s. MOBE ABOSIVE LANGUAGE. Mr H. E. Campbell was charged with calling Mr D. H. Bayldou a liar and a dishonorable man. Mr Campbell admitted the language was used in a moment of heat, and that it was wrong, and tendered a full apology, which w>s accepted by Mr Bayldoa. The case was withdrawn, Mr Campbell to pay costs, £1 15s. ASSAULT. Mr H. E. Campbe" charged Mr Bayldon with raising his foot to kick him yesterday, after the language used in the foregoing case. *, Mr Bayldon admitted raising his foot to kick Mr Campbell, but did not do so. His Worship said that to attempt to strike was an assault, but the provocation in this iustance was very great. Fined Is, each party to pay their own costs.
